Face Masks
31 August 2020
Some very creative ladies have been working tirelessly to help meet the demand for face masks during the COVID-19 pandemic in Point Lonsdale. The idea started when Marg Power suggested making some masks for residents in the community and mentioned it to Vanda Bowers who thought it was a great idea. Vanda then went home to find a pattern of a face mask she had bought on a visit to Japan.
The humble sewing group started off with meeting each morning to sew face masks for the residents of The Breeze community, but before long the word had spread and they were inundated with orders from families, friends, staff, and even schools in Melbourne. Led by Marg and Vanda, the group has sewn over 300 colourful and stylish face masks.
